Adrian Holmes is set for his big break, a starring role in the Peacock dramatic reboot of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Holmes was cast as Phillip “Uncle Phil” Banks in the new darker take on the hit series.

TMZ has reported that Holmes was involved in a car accident on the 110 freeway in downtown Los Angeles. The accident occurred on Monday at approximately 7:35 PM. A source says that Holmes tried to avoid hitting an unidentified man who was laying down in his lane.

Holmes couldn’t avoid hitting the man. The driver behind the actor also struck the individual. This pushed the man into a different lane where a third car also struck him.

The unknown man died from the injuries he suffered in the accident. The police are looking into why he was laying on the highway to begin with.

Sources reveal that as of now, drugs and alcohol are not believed to have been a factor for the drivers. It is not clear if the same can be said for the victim.

The new series Bel-Air was bought by Peacock for two seasons. The new show re-imagines The Fresh Prince as a grittier drama. The shows production was notable for its many difficulties and roadblocks.
