Nick Diaz is a true veteran in the MMA world and has not competed inside the Octagon for many years. Fans have been wondering he will ever make his UFC and it seems that seemed unlikely in the past.

Diaz was present at UFC 261 and even met with Dana White back in April. Dana White even previously admitted that he doesn’t see Nick Diaz making a return to the Octagon.

Many fans also wondered whether he will be facing off against Jorge Masvidal as well. However, now it seems Nick Diaz’s opponent might have just been revealed.

According to a report by MMA journalist Aaron Bronsteter, it was said that Dana White is currently planning a fight between Nick Diaz and UFC veteran Robbie Lawler for September this year. The event will be UFC 266 and will take place on September 4th.

“BREAKING: Nick Diaz vs. Robbie Lawler IN THE WORKS (not yet official) as a co-main for an event in September, per Dana White.”

Diaz hasn’t competed since 2015 when he fought former UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva. His last win was a decade ago in 2011, over B.J. Penn. We will have to see if he will truly end up facing off against Robbie Lawler later this year.
