Nick Diaz is a true veteran in the MMA world and has not competed inside the Octagon for many years. Fans have been wondering he will ever make his UFC and it seems that seemed unlikely in the past..

Diaz was present at UFC 261 and even met with Dana White back in April. Dana White even previously admitted that he doesn’t see Nick Diaz making a return to the Octagon.

However, now it seems there is an update regarding Nick Diaz’s return to the Octagon. According to MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, who took to Twitter, it was reported that Jorge Masvidal’s team was hoping to face either Nick Diaz or Colby Covington next later this year and that the fight would happen in either October or November.

“Spoke to Jorge Masvidal’s manager, Abraham Kawa, about what’s next for Masvidal. He said Masvidal is targeting a return in October/November against either Nick Diaz or Colby Covington.”

Tyson Fury recently called out Dana White and told him to book Nick Diaz in a fight. Diaz hasn’t competed since 2015 when he fought former UFC middleweight champion, Anderson Silva. His last win was a decade ago in 2011, over B.J. Penn. We will have to see if he will end up squaring off against Jorge Masvidal this year.
