Nick Diaz is a true veteran in the MMA world and has not competed inside the Octagon for many years. Fans have been wondering he will ever make his UFC and it seems that might be unlikely at this point in time.
Diaz was present at UFC 261 and even met with Dana White. While speaking to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, Dana White was asked about Diaz’s possible return.
White stated that while Diaz certainly has interest in fighting again, he simply doesn’t see the same drive and hunger that he sees in younger UFC fighters, which makes him doubt Nick’s UFC return.
“Just the amount of time that he’s [Nick Diaz has] taken off already. When you hear him talk about fighting, when you hear him talk about sport… and I sit down daily or talk [everyday] to hungry, young savages that want to break into the top-10, become world champions, all that stuff, you know? And Nick Diaz has done it all, seen it all, he’s been in big fights. I just don’t see that in him when I talk to him.”
Diaz hasn’t competed since 2015 when he fought former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. His last win was a decade ago in 2011, over B.J. Penn. We will have to see who Diaz’s opponent will be should he make his UFC return,
