LeBron James has won many big games and pulled down a fistful of rings, but he’s not going to be in the NBA Finals this year. Some fans are happy about that.

James’ NBA Playoff performance was panned this season, but he was not 100%. While playing injured, he still pulled off some notable moments, but he also caused “LeFlop” to trend on social media. LeBron later chastised the NBA for not giving players enough time to rest, thus creating those injuries that plagued the season.

Now that James and the Lakers are no longer in the postseason picture, other players and teams can receive a focus. A recent poll showed that fans are ready to watch someone other than King James.

A recent poll by SB Nation found that around 79% of the fans seem happy about the fact that James is not competing in the NBA Finals this year. It seems that fans are happy about seeing younger talent thriving in the Playoffs, and that was evident by how the Lake Show’s Playoff dreams were ended in the first round.

Many are calling for the Lakers to shake things up next season. The idea has even been floated that LeBron should take a pay cut to make way for a third star on the team. We’ll have to see if that happens, but James will spend his offseason by promoting Space Jam 2, a joke he made following the Lakers’ exit from the NBA Playoffs.

What’s your take on LeBron James? Are you happy that he’s not going to be around in the NBA Finals? Sound off in the comments.

With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
