A lot of people are talking about John Cena, but his Hollywood career really does determine when he can return. If WWE can get the 16x World Champion to make a return, it won’t likely be for some risky angle. He is worth millions to movie studios who invested a lot in him.

According to PW Insider, The HBO Max series Peacemaker, slated to debut on HBO Max in January of 2022, will wrap up shooting on July 7th. That means John Cena could leave Canada at that point.

John Cena could not be at WrestleMania because he was filming the Peacemaker series in Canada. He wouldn’t be there due to Canada’s mandated quarantine time upon reentry.

We can confirm that production on Cena’s HBO Max series Peacemaker is slated to end on 7/6 in Vancouver, British Columbia, unless there is an unforeseen circumstance that leads to a delay in shooting.

It took them a while to shoot that eight-episode first season of the Peacemaker television show. We’ll have to see if it gets picked up for season two. John Cena is incredibly busy and he might have another project lined up. We have yet to see if that next project has anything to do with getting back to WWE.
