Someone snatched Big Bird and the police are on the search!

CNN reports that the “Big Bird Bandits” have struck, stealing a Sesame Street costume from and Australian circus. They arrested two men on the charges. The Big Bird costume is valued at tens of thousands of dollars.

This heist went down at the circus arena on Bonython Park, Adelaide this week. Big Bird wasn’t out of the nest for too long, because the costume was returned this week.

The costume was returned with an apology note that said:

“We are so sorry!!! We had no idea what we were doing, or what our actions would cause. We were just having a rough time and were trying to cheer ourselfs (sic) up.”We had a great time with Mr Bird. He’s a great guy and no harm came to our friend. Sorry to be such a big birden (sic).”Sincerely, the Big Bird Bandits.”

The men, aged 22 and 26, have been granted bail and will appear in court on June 30th. That nice little note might have helped. This seemed like a case of a bad plan working.
