WWE puts up warnings before their programming telling fans not to try anything they see on screen at home.

A 24-year-old Texas man was booked on capital murder charges this week after he used “wrestling style moves” on a 1-year-old boy left in his care. The boy later died in the hospital.

He claims that his hand slipped and the child stuck the frame of his futon. He later admitted to getting upset about the child ripping a pillow so he held the boy tightly, not realizing his own strength.

The boy’s injuries were numerous and included a fractured skull. KFOX 14 of El Paso reported that the suspect’s name is Marvin Rex Lake and he “insisted to authorities” that he didn’t cause the injuries. He was babysitting at the time.

“I did not hurt his head. I only caused the internal injuries.”

After the child’s parents arrived back to the apartment around midnight, they called paramedics and their son was admitted to the hospital where he later passed away. The boy suffered from brain damage, a skull fracture, lung hemorrhaging, and abdominal injuries and bruising. They eventually took him off life support.

The suspect also asked about possibly getting financial compensation for damage to his futon frame. Lake remains in El Paso County Detention Facility without bond.

This is a tragic case and a senseless loss of life as well. RIP.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
