Armie Hammer is the focus of a new rape accusation. He has denied the claim, but police are still investigation.

According to TMZ, a woman named Effie claims that she was raped by Hammer. It is alleged that he raped her for over four hours. During the assault, he allegedly slapped her in the head and against the wall while physically abusing her.

It is alleged that this incident took place on April 24th, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. These allegations were made during a news conference with her attorney, Gloria Allred.

It is alleged that she met Hammer on Facebook in 2016 when she was 20-years-old. They began a relationship after that which allegedly became violent and abusive. Allred claims that Effie provided law enforcement with evidence of the rape and abuse.

Now prosecutors will have to decide whether there is enough evidence to charge Hammer for any crimes. Allred already said that she is not planning to file a lawsuit.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … someone spoke with police about the alleged incident on Feb. 3 and cops started a sexual assault investigation, which is ongoing.

Hammer’s attorney, Andrew Brettler, said that they believe Effie “undermines and refutes her outrageous allegations” because she is the one who sent Armie Hammer sexually charged texts as recently as July 18th, 2020.

In the alleged text, Effie said, “Helplessly horny and I just need to tell you cuz it’s been sooo long since last time.” The rest of the message is incredibly graphic.

Hammer was shown responding to this text by saying: “I am not going to be able to engage in you in that specific way right now. It never ends well. We can talk and be friends but I can’t do that.”

We will continue monitoring this ongoing story as more information is made known.
