Spotify has a ton of users who rely on them to get their jam on. There was a big problem for K-Pop fans recently.

Artists under the Kakao M banner are now off of Spotify. This includes a long list of artists, some up-and-coming, who will really be damaged by this deal. Of course, it all comes down to money and rights fees.

You can check out a list of some of the artists who are no longer on Spotify below:

  • MAMAMOO
  • SEVENTEEN
  • IU
  • MONSTA X
  • GFRIEND
  • The Boyz
  • LOONA
  • Sunmi
  • (G)I-DLE
  • BtoB
  • Apink
  • P1Harmony
  • Dreamcatcher
  • Epik High
  • SISTAR
  • CRAVITY
  • Cosmic Girls

Kakao M’s music was already not available on Spotify when it launched in Korea. Now the music group has pulled all artists from every region for Spotify.

Fans are very upset by this news. They would love to see this situation remedied, and quickly. They have started making their voices heard on social media. In the meantime, fans will have to supplement their K-Pop cravings elsewhere.

H Jenkins

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
