Get ready, hip-hop fans, because Yelawolf is gearing up for his next musical adventure, and it’s a double album bombshell titled “War Story.”

This project is a rollercoaster with two distinct sides. First up, we have “Trunk Muzik 4Ever,” a side produced by his trusty collaborator WLPWR. On the flip side, there’s “Michael Wayne,” produced by the talented Malay. Together, these two sides make up the epic “War Story.”

For Yelawolf, this album marks his triumphant return to the rap scene after his 2021 release, “Mud Mouth.” In 2022, he switched gears and explored the world of rock with “Sometimes Y,” alongside Shooter Jennings. But now, he’s back to spitting rhymes and dropping bars.

“I was just so fueled to rap again,” Yelawolf told SPIN. “My tank got refilled, so to speak, and it turned out I had a lot to say.” He’s eager to make his mark in hip-hop once more, bringing his unique blend of music to the forefront of the mainstream.

Yelawolf has big dreams for “War Story,” hoping to capture the hearts of fans across different spectrums. He wants Drake fans, Kendrick Lamar fans, Three 6 Mafia fans, Future fans, and XXXTentacion fans to embrace this project with open arms.

Now at 43 years old, the Tennessee native sees himself as a mentor to the up-and-coming artists in the music industry. “Yeah, this double album is full-on OG, mentoring, artistic MC — it’s me at my best,” he shares. “I do feel a responsibility to play my part in the culture and to bring other people up.”

But hold on to your hats, folks, because not everything Yelawolf raps about should be taken at face value. He freely admits, “I don’t really have reservations with my lyrics.” In fact, he confesses that many of the stories in his songs are entirely fabricated for the sake of artistry. So, when you listen, enjoy the creativity, but don’t assume it’s all autobiographical.

As for a release date, Yelawolf is keeping us in suspense. So, stay tuned because “War Story” is on the horizon, and it’s set to be a musical journey like no other.

Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News opened the door for a new opportunity for Jenkins. With a history in finance, he broke into the journalism game by writing on blogs and other freelance websites before branching into sports and entertainment news. Being in tune with pop culture doesn't mean it has to make sense, but he tries. Favorite bands include any group from Seattle who formed between 1991 and 1999. 5 Ozzfests under his belt and 12 Warped Tours, but his last concert was a bluegrass AC/DC cover band that was not 100% terrible.
