Bill Cosby is once again at the center of a lawsuit, this time brought forth by Joan Tarshis, an actress and former comedy writer. Tarshis accuses Cosby of rape, detailing incidents that allegedly occurred in the early 1970s when she was drugged by Cosby on two separate occasions.

According to TMZ, Tarshis, first encountered Cosby at the age of 19 through a mutual friend. She was invited to the studio where “The Cosby Show” was filmed for a one-on-one writing session. Tarshis alleges that, while alone with Cosby in his private bungalow on the studio lot, Cosby gave her a drink. After consuming the drink, she felt dizzy, passed out, and woke up to Cosby undressing her.

Tarshis claims that she was disoriented as she tried to resist Cosby, but he overpowered her and forced himself upon her without her consent. Approximately a year later, Tarshis states that Cosby contacted her again in New York City and offered to take her to a music fair where he was performing. She reluctantly agreed and alleges that Cosby gave her another drink during their trip. She again felt weak, lost consciousness, and woke up naked in bed next to Cosby, believing she had been penetrated vaginally and anally.

Tarshis is pursuing legal action against Cosby, including allegations of assault, battery, infliction of emotional distress, and false imprisonment. She is seeking significant damages. Cosby’s representative has not provided a comment on the matter.

This lawsuit adds to the numerous allegations Cosby has faced over the years. He previously went to trial in Pennsylvania, where he was found guilty of assaulting Andrea Costand. However, his conviction was later overturned. Joan Tarshis had previously come forward with her allegations against Cosby and participated in an interview with CNN’s Don Lemon, which garnered attention due to Lemon’s remarks during the interview.

In light of the new lawsuit filed by Joan Tarshis against Bill Cosby, how do you think this legal action will impact Cosby’s reputation and the ongoing conversation surrounding allegations against him? Leave us a comment.
