DaBaby is known for his confidence, and he’s not holding back when it comes to his opinion on his verse in Kanye West’s 2021 track “Jail.”

In a recent appearance on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, DaBaby boldly claimed that his verse on the song is better than JAY-Z’s.

When Sharpe brought up Lil Yachty’s previous statement that DaBaby outshone Hov on the track, DaBaby didn’t hesitate to agree. He said, “It was. You heard both of them? JAY-Z, I ain’t got nothing but respect for you. Was your verse better than mine? Come on, OG. It wasn’t. That’s okay. We ain’t do it at the same time. It ain’t like you had the ability to be able to say, ‘Hold on, [let me do it over].’ We did it in two different times. But definitely.”

This bold claim comes after Lil Yachty’s own hot take on the matter during an episode of his podcast, A Safe Place. Yachty stated, “In my personal opinion, I think DaBaby had a better verse. I know the conversation of JAY-Z versus DaBaby is insane, but I honestly think his verse was better.”

DaBaby’s verse in “Jail” came in the “Pt 2” version of the track, which Kanye West released shortly after the original version with JAY-Z. The collaboration faced controversy due to both DaBaby and Marilyn Manson’s involvement, with both artists facing public backlash at the time.

Regardless of the debate over who had the better verse, it’s clear that DaBaby is confident in his contribution to the song, and he’s not shy about expressing his opinion on it.

What’s your take on DaBaby’s claim that his verse on Kanye West’s “Jail” is better than JAY-Z’s? Do you agree with him, or do you think it’s a matter of personal preference? Share your thoughts on this musical debate!
