The Chelsea Hotel was buzzing with excitement during a star-studded party for the off-Broadway play “Danny and the Deep Blue Sea,” but things took an unexpected twist when aggressive selfie-seekers reportedly “taunted” Marisa Tomei.

According to Page Six sources, event security had their hands full as they tried to fend off a horde of iPhone-wielding fans with Tasers. The situation escalated even further when someone in the crowd dialed the police.

One insider at the glamorous bash, which celebrated the play’s opening night, featuring stars like Aubrey Plaza and Christopher Abbott, shared the details of the chaotic scene: “Extra security was called to try to manage the swarm of fans who congregated outside the show’s after party.”

The tension reached its peak when Marisa Tomei, the 58-year-old star of “My Cousin Vinny,” exited the party around midnight. Trying to avoid the crowd, she made a beeline for her nearby car, refusing to stop for photos.

However, a few disappointed fans didn’t take kindly to Tomei’s refusal and decided to follow her down the block, reportedly taunting her. In response, security swiftly intervened, brandishing Tasers, which prompted one person in the crowd to call 911.

By the time the police arrived on the scene, tempers had cooled, and Marisa Tomei was already on her way home, safe and sound.

Interestingly, event organizers extended an invitation to the on-duty officers to join the party inside the legendary hotel for drinks, but the police politely declined.

The event attracted an array of A-list stars, including Dakota Johnson, Marc Jacobs, Mark Ruffalo, Patti LuPone, Natasha Lyonne, Michael Cera, Zawe Ashton, Ben Stiller, John Waters, Ethan Coen, Stephanie Hsu, Dan Stevens, and Sam Rockwell.

As for Marisa Tomei’s take on the ordeal, her representative had no comment on the matter.
