DJ Khaled, the music mogul and Snapchat sensation, just spilled some major tea about his financial rollercoaster ride back in the mid-2010s, and it’s a story you won’t want to miss!

In an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone, the man behind “We The Best” gave us a rare peek behind the scenes of his life, beyond the catchy beats and motivational talks.

Khaled didn’t hold back when he revealed that around 2015, he was “hustling not smart.” It was a tough time, and he was on the brink of losing his Miami mansion. Yep, you heard that right! The guy who’s always talking about major keys and success almost lost his own home.

But then, the Snapchat magic happened, and his “Major Key” album topped the charts in the following year. Business started booming, but before that, Khaled had to scramble for rent money, having invested a chunk of his capital into his “We The Best” company.

He remembered it vividly, saying, “I remember I had like a month to come up with this [large] amount of money. I kept saying, ‘There’s no way in the world that we worked this much this far and we don’t have nothing to show for it.’ I changed that right away. I was like, ‘Yo, if I want a family, I got to get my shit right.’ And I gambled on myself. I always bet on myself from day one. But I tripled down that day.”

Despite his huge success, DJ Khaled isn’t one to rely on analytics. He follows his instincts, not some desk jockey’s numbers. He explained, “You got people that work behind these desks, they hide behind their desks, and they’re not even in the field. If you’re not in the field, how are you going to feel something? Some people work off of analytics. I work off of heart, blood, sweat, and tears.”

And now, the big reveal! Khaled’s upcoming album is titled “Til Next Time.” But hold your horses; it doesn’t mean he’s retiring. He clarified, “I’m treating it like it’s my last album. But it’s not a goodbye. You’re going to start seeing and hearing about all these new things that I’m doing. I’m going to be doing more TV and film. We taking over the TV and film. That’s what Til Next Time is — it’s like, I’m going to give you an incredible album, but also while I’m giving you that incredible album, you’re going to see all these big new moves that I’m doing and new categories that we going to take over.”

DJ Khaled always keeps us guessing and on the edge of our seats with his journey from financial struggles to major success and his plans to dominate new horizons.
