Stranger Things is undoubtedly one of the most popular shows ever produced by Netflix till now. Fans have been eagerly waiting for season 5 to come out ever since the fourth season dropped last year. However, it appears the fifth season has been delayed due to the ongoing writers’ strike.

One year after the release of the first volume of Stranger Things season 4, production on Stranger Things season 5 was expected to begin sometime this month after some delay.

Unfortunately, the fifth season will not be going into production anytime soon. The Duffers took to Twitter and officially announced that production for season 5 of ‘Stranger Things’ will not commence for the time being, due to the writers’ strike.

Duffers here. Writing does not stop when filming begins. While we’re excited to start production with our amazing cast and crew, it is not possible during this strike. We hope a fair deal is reached soon so we can all get back to work. Until then — over and out. #wgastrong

Volume 1 of season 4 was released on May 27, which was just in time for Memorial Day weekend. Volume 2 was released on July 1. In case you forgot, the fourth season dropped nearly 3 years after season 3 debuted in 2019.

It might be a while until the writers’ strike ends, as writers in various forms of media are protesting to get better payment for their efforts and not be exploited by executives. Only time will tell when the strike will end and production for Season 5 of ‘Stranger Things‘ can commence.

What do you think of ‘Stranger Things’ season 5 getting delayed? Do you agree with it getting delayed for such a reason? Let us know in the comments!
