We’re seeing more and more confrontations between fans and players every passing year. This has gotten widespread over the whole spectrum of sports. It’s nothing new having witnessed such incidents throughout the American leagues. Now, NFL star Bradley Beal has got himself stuck in a tough situation.
The Washington Wizards star was reportedly approached by a group of men. It was following the Wizard’s March 22 loss to the Magic at Orlando’s Amway Center. One member of the group allegedly yelled ‘you f***** me [out of] $1,300, you f***,’ at Beal, as per the Police.
Confronting the behavior of the person shouting, Beal tried to talk him out of it. He called him ‘disrespectful’ while appearing to knock a hat off one man’s head. This all happened as the scene got more heated due to the intense back and forth from both sides.
The three-time NBA All-Star conveyed his message to those disruptive fans about the issue. He said that their betting on the game has nothing to do with how he plays and that they should stop blaming him for their monetary losses. He was then ushered into the locker room without further incident but is reportedly being investigated by the Orlando Police Department for violence.
“Keep it a buck. I don’t give a f*** about none of your bets or your parlays, bro. That ain’t why I play the game.”
The Magic, meanwhile, are aware of the incident and are letting the OPD handle it. The game was a poor one for Beal. The former Florida star finished with just 16 points on 4-of-15 shooting as the Wizards were outscored by 10.
Beal has had a tremendous year for the Wizards this season despite his team’s 33-42 record. He’s been averaging 23.2 points per game with 3.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists. It remains to be seen how this accusation affects his season. For more updates stay tuned to Thirsty.
