The XFL was branded as a cursed entity, as it failed for its two previous launches in the past two decades. It finally came back this month, with The Rock at the helm alongside his other business partners. While it is a legitimate league, it is nowhere near as big as the NFL. That being said, the league’s most recent game in St. Louis had an insane turnout.
The 2023 XFL season has been an absolute sensation thus far. Since Dwayne Johnson assumed ownership, the league has provided entertaining, competitive, and thrilling football for viewers. After a three-year break, the XFL’s return is timely (during the NFL offseason) and has been a delight for football enthusiasts.
In their Week 4 game, the St. Louis Battlehawks emerged victorious over the Arlington Renegades with a score of 24-11. Multiple records were shattered during the Week 4 matchup between the St. Louis Battlehawks and the Arlington Renegades.
The game took place at The Dome at America’s Center in St. Louis and drew a massive crowd, breaking the XFL’s attendance record. A total of 38,310 passionate fans gathered at the stadium on Sunday, marking the largest turnout in the history of professional spring football games.
Prior to the game, thousands of fans arrived early to witness the live music and participate in the “hawk walk” to support their beloved team. The atmosphere was certainly electric, which is something The Rock would have approved of. The St. Louis Battlehawks took control of the game right from the start and went on to dominate the Arlington Renegades.
The Battlehawks were led by A.J. McCarron, who played a pivotal role in their 24-11 triumph by throwing for 214 yards and two significant touchdowns. On top of that, Darrius Shepherd, a former wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, contributed to the team’s victory with 91 yards and a touchdown.
With this impressive win, the Battlehawks are now in second position in XFL North, just behind the DC Defenders. We will have to wait and see who will end up winning this season of the XFL, as fans are very excited about each and every game.
