The Rock is a Hollywood juggernaut, but he hasn’t graced a WWE ring for a long time. Fans were hopeful that his in-ring absence would end in 2023, but they’re still waiting. With WWE’s biggest show of the year booking up fast, fans will go another year without seeing The Rock wrestle on the grandest stage of them all.

It was once thought that The Rock was a virtual lock for a WrestleMania match this year. The thought of The Great One squaring off against Roman Reigns was a hot topic of conversation within the WWE Universe, but that match isn’t happening.

While speaking to Wrestling Inc, Young Rock producer and Seven Bucks Productions Executive, Brian Gewirtz explained that it was all about timing. There were “many reasons” why The Rock couldn’t make a WrestleMania match happen. That being said, Gewirtz is ready to hop on a plane and get to WrestleMania at SoFi Stadium at the drop of a hat.

Look, time is ever moving forward. There’s many reasons from scheduling and stuff that I probably don’t even have any idea in terms of why something would happen or not happen. Organically, it makes sense. Who knows? All I know is if I get a call saying, “Hey, I’m going to Mania. I’ll see you there,” I’m ready to hop on a plane and go to Mania. I know that’s not a well detailed, documented answer, but that’s the case because that could happen anytime whether it’s this one down the road, five years from now, 10 years from now, who knows. Dwayne, and myself to a much lesser extent, we always have ties with WWE. They’re always going to be part of the family and part of us. If it happens, great. I’ll be ready to go. Dwayne will be ready to go. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t, but we’ll see what happens.

The Rock is 50-years-old, and he’s still in great shape. He did not have time to get ready for a WrestleMania match against Roman Reigns this year, but there’s always WrestleMania 40 next year in Philly.

We’ll have to see if The Rock ever makes his way back to the ring. Until that happens, keep it tuned here with us at Thirsty for more on this story, and everything else going on in the entertainment world.

Let’s get to know each other. Me? Well, I have a master’s degree in Journalism from Marshall University, but I don’t really like to talk about that. I was a stand-up comedian for eight years, but I don’t really like to talk about that either. I write a lot. I once worked for a company that writes blurbs for online gambling games. Those paid $.75 each. So, if you frequent that kind of thing, then you’re welcome for the description for Biker Chicken Slots or Crazy Granny’s Scratchers. I wish I had more to tell, but due to my crippling anxiety and Tourette’s Syndrome, that has become increasingly worse over the years, I tend to keep to myself.
