The Mandalorian is a live-action Star Wars television series developed by Lucasfilm. The series which airs exclusively on Disney+ takes place about five years after the events of the 1983 film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. With the exception of the first and seventh episodes of Season One, all shows aired on Fridays. Following the end of the first season an eight-episode behind-the-scenes series titled Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian was released starting May 2020. The second season premiered on Disney+ on October 30, 2020. Following that, Two Disney Gallery: The Mandalorian specials about the making of the second season were released.

The highly awaited third season of The Mandalorian will premiere on Disney+ in early March. However, the show’s creator Jon Favreau has revealed to BFM TV that Season 4 scripts are already completed. A fourth season has yet to be officially announced by Disney and Lucasfilm.

As a result, Favreau and the Mandalorian crew are just waiting for the go-ahead to start filming from the studio. Favreau reportedly penned the Season 4 scripts during Season 3’s post-production. He did so while keeping in mind how the series would fit into the larger network of the Star Wars universe. There are several Star Wars shows in development including Ahsoka.

When questioned about the fourth season of The Mandalorian, Favreau said, “Season 4, yeah I’ve written it already. We have to know where we’re going to tell a fully formed story. We had mapped it out, Dave [Filoni] and I, and slowly you start to write each episode. I was writing it during post-production. All of it has to feel like a continuation and one full story.”

Favreau continues on to say that “[Dave’s] doing Ahsoka, which I’m producing with him. He’s the writer and showrunner on that. To understand what’s happening on other shows….Skeleton Crew all take place within the same Star Wars time period. There’s a lot more things that we’ve got to keep in mind and also stuff that we’ve built up to from previous seasons of The Mandalorian as well.” The live-action Ahsoka is played by Rosario Dawson.

Her character first appeared in The Mandalorian’s previous season. She does, however, now have her own Disney+ series. The show will take place during the same time period as The Mandalorian. In addition, Jude Law will appear in the Star Wars comedy Skeleton Crew. That show will also air around the same time as Disney+’s The Mandalorian.4

The Acolyte, a third Star Wars movie, will feature Amanda Stenberg. That show will take place many years in the past. As a result, it will follow a different schedule than The Mandalorian. Season 4 of The Mandalorian will debut on Disney+ on March 1. Keep an eye on Thirsty for the most latest updates.
