Jason Momoa’s role as Aquaman/Arthur Curry was incredibly well-received, both critically and commercially. It was also touted as one of the best films produced under the DCEU banner. However, Jason might no longer be a part of the hit franchise anymore as he recently stated his wish to exit the show due to a ‘terrible’ script.

Jason Momoa reportedly intends to exit the Aquaman saga following Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Apparently, the movie is so terrible that it has made the actor want to leave the franchise. The franchise’s future is thus seriously in question.

There are rumors that the movie’s test screenings are not going well. Some viewers believed it to be the worst DCU film to date. Others left the theatre by exiting. Additionally, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom concludes the DCU saga that Momoa began. This makes it difficult for viewers to become invested in the movie.

Jeff Sneider is a trusted insider who works as a columnist and film critic for LA Magazine, a reporter for The Ankler, and an editor for Below the Line. He claims to have heard that Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is “terrible” and “Momoa is going to be Lobo going forward.”

“But they can’t say that yet because then it would be a lame duck… and DC is hoping to wring another billion out of the box office. The first one was awful too, so not a huge surprise.”

Momoa made some interesting comments earlier this year, prior to all the new DCU announcements. In his post, he thanked James Gunn and Peter Safran in particular and mentioned that he had received “great news with Warner Bros.” Momoa appears to be aware of what will happen next between him, Warner Bros., and the DC Universe. Fans are aware of Momoa’s deep admiration for Lobo, so it wouldn’t be shocking if he jumped at the chance to play the part. Keep an eye on Thirsty For News to get the latest updates.
