In a year marked by the rise of controversial voices, one man stood out for his particularly virulent and misogynistic views toward women. Andrew Tate, a former kickboxing champion, garnered negative headlines and widespread condemnation for his divisive opinions. But Tate’s public notoriety took a dramatic turn last December when reports surfaced that he had been arrested in Romania on allegations of human trafficking.

The legal woes of former kickboxing champion and notorious misogynist Andrew Tate show no signs of abating, as a Romanian court has ruled to extend his detention for an additional 30 days as reported by AP News. This latest development comes on the heels of several previous extensions and marks a significant setback for Tate and his legal team.

Tate was arrested along with his brother Tristan. The duo was initially joined in custody by two Romanian women who will now be moved to house arrest. The legal team representing the Tate brothers appealed a prior extension on February 1st and they plan to challenge another extension next month if necessary.

According to their lawyer, Eugene Vidineac, the team has successfully “paralyzed the evidence” against the brothers, leading to a lack of sufficient reasons for them to remain in custody.

Despite being in custody, Tate still has access to his social media accounts, and on February 14th, he posted a message on Twitter reflecting on his situation.

”there are two possible futures of the universe. One, they kill me. Two, I emerge as one of the most respected and influential men on the planet galvanized by false persecution. I ask my enemies to make a choice. I will stay awake tonight prepared for mortal combat. Send your best.”

According to the country’s anti-organized crime agency, DIICOT, the six victims in the case faced both mental and physical abuse from their captors and were forced to film pornographic content for their captors’ financial gain.

As of writing this article, there haven’t been any formal charges levied on the Tate brothers. However, it doesn’t look like they will be getting out any time soon. Stay tuned to Thirsty For News as we bring you similar stories.
