WWE brings a ton of excitement, and outside revenue, to WrestleMania host cities. Naturally, cities all over the world are vying for that yearly economic boost. It seems that WWE might find their way back to Canada for another show of shows down the line.

WrestleMania 39 is set to take over SoFi Stadium on April 1st and 2nd. The company is well on their way to building the card for that event, still, fans from all over can’t help but hope to get their own Mania event.

During the press conference following Elimination Chamber, Sami Zayn was asked about WWE holding another WrestleMania event in Canada. Zayn said that he doesn’t usually have conversations like this with the WWE Chief Content Officer, Triple H. “A lot of business stuff that’s way above my pay grade,” he admitted.

Sami Zayn then revealed that he actually did speak to Triple H about holding WrestleMania in Montreal, because “the secret is out.”

“As far as the passion of the audience, I think the secret’s out on Montreal now,” Zayn said. “Of course, I’m biased and I get a little extra love and all that stuff but every performer now knows it, feels it, knows the crowd is going to rule, they know the passions unmatched and now the whole world knows it because they see it on TV. They see what we just did out there, they see these fans standing on their feet for 10 minutes and they’re like ‘damn, Montreal crowd, man, Montreal.’

“So the words out. Somewhat biased but a world-class city in virtually every metric. Maybe not the Olympic stadium which may be a factor in the whole WrestleMania decision but I think it comes down to business stuff that’s above my pay grade. But I think it has nothing, nothing to do with the passion, because if you’re picking a city strictly on passion, Montreal has to be a top three contender, has to be.”

WWE has held two WrestleMania events in Canada. WrestleMania VI took place in the SkyDome on April 1st, 1990. Most fans will probably remember WrestleMania X8 even better, as WWE went back to the SkyDome on March 17th, 2002.

WWE already lined up WrestleMania 40 for Philly. That will likely be a two-night event, just as the previous years. The two-night model seems to be working out well for WWE, and fans in Canada want a piece of that huge extravaganza.

Let’s get to know each other. Me? Well, I have a master’s degree in Journalism from Marshall University, but I don’t really like to talk about that. I was a stand-up comedian for eight years, but I don’t really like to talk about that either. I write a lot. I once worked for a company that writes blurbs for online gambling games. Those paid $.75 each. So, if you frequent that kind of thing, then you’re welcome for the description for Biker Chicken Slots or Crazy Granny’s Scratchers. I wish I had more to tell, but due to my crippling anxiety and Tourette’s Syndrome, that has become increasingly worse over the years, I tend to keep to myself.
