Selena Gomez is a pop culture star who rose to prominence in just a few years. Gomez has struggled a lot because of her health issues, yet haters have yet to stop criticizing her. Selena Gomez recently responded to body shamers by saying, “I’m Not a Model, Never Will Be.”

Selena Gomez posted a message on TikTok Live on Thursday telling all the trolls out there who feel the need to continually criticize her physique to “go away.” Gomez acknowledged her weight increase. She also said there was a cause for it and it was much more significant than placating internet haters.

“I don’t believe in shaming people for [their] body or anything.”

Gomez shared that while she is actively taking her lupus medicine, she tends “to hold a lot of water weight, and that happens naturally,” explaining that the medication can have a tremendous effect on her body. Gomez also highlighted that it’s acceptable and that “nobody knows the real story” to anyone else out there who might be struggling with their own personal predicament.

“When I’m off of it, I tend to kind of lose weight.”

“So I just want people to know that you’re beautiful and you’re wonderful and… yeah, we have days where maybe we feel like s—. But I would much rather be healthy and take care of myself, and my medications are important and I believe they are what helps me.”

Gomez had a reminder for anyone trying to hold her to some unfair standard, adding, “So yeah, not a model, never will be. And I think they’re awesome, mind you. I just, I definitely am– definitely not that.” She told her audience as she ended her statement, “I appreciate your love and support, and I’m grateful for your tolerance. And if not, leave.”

Gomez has been transparent about her health struggle, which has included receiving a lupus diagnosis in 2014 and going through treatment for it. In 2017, a kidney transplant came next. She recently defended herself against online trolls who criticized her shaking hands in a skincare tutorial by asserting once more that it is a side effect of her meds.

Gomez also responded to body shamers on TikTok Live after the Golden Globes by remarking, “I’m a little big right now because I enjoyed myself during the holidays. Even before that, in April 2022, she brought up the subject once more, noting that the trolls seemed to detest her for being big no matter what.

“B—-, I am perfect the way I am. Moral of the story? Bye.”

On Apple TV+ in November 2022, the pop sensation debuted “Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me,” a personal documentary that exposed Gomez’s battles with anxiety and depression and showed her in all of her unvarnished glory.

“My Mind & Me” is exactly what it says it is: a documentary on Selena Gomez’s relationship with her own mind, her mental health, and the difficulties it’s presented to her. It easily might have been a biography of the pop artist Selena Gomez.

“My Mind & Me” chronicles the story of Selena’s journey through mental health from when she first started to understand herself, through a life-changing event abroad, and ends on where she’s heading next in that field, with a clear vision for what it’s setting out to do.

Even though some of the scenes can be quite tough to watch, the story is brilliantly conveyed and has many memorable moments. Selena isn’t always at her best, but she is constantly surrounded by love and support, even when it’s difficult. For further updates stay tuned to Thirsty.
