The Nets are trading all of their star players in a row. Kyrie Irving was just traded away from the Nets, and now one of their big-name superstars is on his way out too. As per reports, Kevin Durant is all set to join the Phoenix Suns in a huge trading deal.

Insider Shams Charania took to Twitter to break the huge news of Kevin Durant being traded away by the Brooklyn Nets. According to him, the Suns will send Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Jae Crowder, four first-round picks, and more draft compensation to the Nets. In exchange, they will receive the 13-time All-Star and two-time NBA champion and T.J. Warren.

This news has definitely come as a shock and has been decided only a few days ago. Sources confirm that the agreement was finalized only after the Nets traded their star guard Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks. A few of the sendoffs from the Suns didn’t even play much of the last season.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Suns’ unprotected picks in 2023, 2025, 2027, and 2029 will be sent to the Nets. The sale was reportedly pushed through Wednesday night by new Suns owner Mat Ishbia.  Durant previously played for the Sonics/Thunder, Warriors, and Nets before joining this franchise.

Durant’s move away from the Brooklyn side will put an end to their superstar era. Players like Durant, Irving, and James Harden were brought in hopes of multiple N.B.A. championships. Instead, the franchise endured a series of disappointments and bitter sendoffs.

The Nets might have gone through this deal in hopes of a future team-building scenario. However, as of now, their roster seems lackluster and not up to the mark for a title push or challenge.
