Jeremy Renner underwent emergency surgery for blunt chest trauma and other injuries following a New Year’s Day accident in which he was run over by a 14,000-pound snowplow near his house. The Hawkeye actor revealed that while trying to save his nephew he fractured more than 30 bones after arriving home on January 16. Renner’s Marvel co-star Evangeline Lilly recently provided an update on the actor’s condition.

The Lost alum told Access Hollywood on Tuesday that she met her longtime friend “the other night” and that he was already “mobile” with the use of a wheelchair. “He has recovered like a mofo,” Lilly claimed. She went on to say that she, “walked in his house and got chicken skin, ’cause I was like, ‘Why are you mobile? Why are you mobile? What’s happening?’”

The Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania star said that she expected to “hold his hand” by his bedside as he “moaned and groaned in pain,” but instead she found him “wheeling himself around, laughing with his friends.” She went on to exclaim that, “it’s a miracle, a straight-up miracle.”

He’s made of something really tough, that guy. You’ve always been able to see that in him. He is recovering incredibly, and I’m so grateful.

Lilly continued, “It was really intense. I mean, he had a near death experience that was highly traumatic, and he was awake for the whole thing. I’m still having moments where some of the stuff he told me that he experienced and retelling me the story of what went on and the things he could hear and the things that he could see.” Meanwhile, Rudd told Entertainment Tonight that he spoke with Renner just before the world premiere of “Ant Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” on Feb. 6.

Rudd added, “He’s doing alright. He’s doing well… He’s the best guy and he’s awesome.” Renner posted a photo of his physical therapy exercises on Instagram on January 21 to update followers on his progress. “Morning workouts, resolutions all changed this particular new years,” he wrote in the caption.
