Cameron Diaz is one of Hollywood’s best-known actresses, having garnered several honors, including nominations for four Golden Globe Awards and a British Academy Film Award. Following the release of Annie, Diaz chose to take a break from acting, stating in July 2017 that she had grown tired of traveling for filming and confirming her retirement the following March. Diaz announced her comeback to acting in June 2022, starring alongside Foxx, and they were recently photographed on set together.

The Avaline businesswoman who is returning to acting for the upcoming Netflix film Back in Action was spotted on set with co-star Jamie Foxx. The two looked sharp in the photo with the Ray actor dressed in a sleek classic black tuxedo. The Charlie’s Angels actress looked stunning in a black blazer and matching trousers.

The new photos follow Jamie’s interview in which he explained how he convinced Cameron to come out of retirement and return to the screen. This isn’t the first time Jamie and Cameron have worked together; fans will recall that the two co-starred in the 2014 remake of Annie which was The Holiday actress’ last film before retiring.

Jamie announced the film in June by tweeting a phone call between himself, the actress, and Tom Brady. “Cameron I hope you aren’t mad I recorded this, but no turning back now. Had to call in the GOAT to bring back another GOAT,” Jamie tweeted June 29. “@CameronDiaz and I are BACK IN ACTION—our new movie with @NetflixFilm. Production starting later this year!!”

Diaz who played Miss Hannigan in the movie musical Annie with Foxx told CBS Mornings back in July the reason behind her eight-year hiatus. She said that when people are doing something they are really familiar with and it has dominated their entire life for so long, it is good to take a step back for a moment. The actress also said that she missed her profession.

Cameron also suggested that they should look at the big picture and consider what they might do better and be more involved in to feel more whole, and that’s exactly what she did.
