Cameron Diaz announced her retirement from acting back in 2018. The ‘Charlie’s Angels’ star was one of Hollywood’s most popular actors for an extended period. After walking away for several years, Cameron will be making her comeback to the screen for a huge new project.
Diaz will join Jamie Foxx in the upcoming Netflix feature, ‘Back in Action.’ The appropriately-titled movie was announced by Foxx via Twitter in an audio clip that featured the also recently-unretired Tom Brady. In that same post, Jamie revealed that Cameron Diaz would co-star with him in the upcoming film.
“Cameron I hope you aren’t mad I recorded this, but no turning back now. Had to call in the GOAT to bring back another GOAT. @CameronDiaz and I are BACK IN ACTION – our new movie with @NetflixFilm. Production starting later this year!!”
In the audio clip, Tom Brady tells Cameron Diaz he has heard she needs some tips on how to unretire. Cameron said she had been feeling nervous about her comeback.
Production on the new movie will start later this year. There is no release date for ‘Back in Action’. ‘Horrible Bosses’ star Seth Gordon will direct the action-comedy.
Cameron Diaz has not starred in a film since 2014’s ‘Annie’ outside of a cameo in the 2019 reboot of Charlie’s Angels. Long-time fans will be thrilled to hear of her return to the screen. Hopefully, Tom Brady had some excellent tips to share.
