This Saturday, UFC fans were stunned to hear that Francis Ngannou is no longer part of the UFC roster and has been stripped of the UFC Heavyweight Championship making him a free agent. The news came as a shock to many because Ngannou was still the UFC Heavyweight Champion.

During his tenure as champion, Ngannou cemented his legacy as one of the most terrifying men on the planet. He will always be remembered as one of the greats of the octagon.

Prior to his release, Ngannou was supposed to fight Jon Jones in the latter’s return to the sport. But his departure means that UFC will have to find a different opponent for The Predator. Following his release, fans have been asking what’s next for the former UFC fighter.

Speaking on The MMA Hour, Francis Ngannou mentioned that he plans to return to boxing by July this year. However, he hasn’t mentioned any details regarding the venue, promotion, or his opponent for the fight.

“The latest will be July, I will say so, hopefully. [I] at least [want to fight] twice a year, twice this year… My gut, I will say [when I return, it will be in] boxing. Yeah, pro-boxing… Not yet, but I’m gonna find out. I’m working on it, I’m on it right now.”

Although he is trying to venture into boxing, Francis Ngannou hasn’t ruled out a return to the sport of MMA yet which could be a good thing for UFC fans waiting to see him return to the octagon again. Stay tuned to Thirsty For News as we bring you similar stories.
