UFC Fighter Phil Baroni Arrested After Allegedly Killing His Girlfriend

UFC veteran Phil Baroni was one of the more well-known fighters during his time. Unfortunately, has been arrested by Mexican authorities after he was alleged to have assaulted his girlfriend and killed her.

According to a report by Tribuna de la Bahia, Phil Baroni was arrested on Sunday in San Pancho, a town in the state of Nayarit in Mexico. This was after he contacted Policía Estatal Turística, who were patrolling the area, and told the police that his girlfriend, Paola, was unconscious in their room at the Jardín San Pancho Hotel.

According to the report, authorities found Baroni naked laying in bed and covered with a blanket. Police stated that the woman had bruises on her face and body, indicating that she was hit many times.

The UFC fighter informed authorities that he and Paola were both smoking marijuana and drinking beer when she revealed that she cheated on him with another man. This led to Baroni allegedly grabbing Paola and throwing her into the shower where she hit her forehead and then fell back hitting her head again.

Baroni claimed that he helped her up to her feet and laid her down on the bed. He added that he took her clothes off and covered her with a blanket because she said she was cold. After a while, Baroni claimed Paola asked him to get her a beer and cigarettes. When Baroni came back, the UFC fighter claimed that he thought Paola was sleeping but then realized she was unresponsive as he tried waking her up.

Baroni is potentially facing a charge for murder. Baroni was arrested and is being detained at the Juzgado Municipal Administrativo de Valle de Banderas. We will keep you updated on this ongoing story.
