The long-delayed Good Burger 2 has finally begun production, and Kel Mitchell has posted an update about it on social media. The idea was inspired by a popular comedy from Nickelodeon’s All That, which starred Mitchell and his on-screen partner, legendary SNL performer Kenan Thompson.

A script for Good Burger 2 was made public in a joint Instagram video post by Kel Mitchell and Kenan Thompson. The actors clearly aim to serve up a Good Burger 2 as Mitchell noted in the caption that the table read went really well.

After their cheeseburger-focused movie, The Good Burger, the cast and crew have grown to become well-renowned performers and executives. Linda Cardellini made her big film debut because of it, and Brian Robbins, who directed the film Good Burger, later rose to the position of CEO of Paramount Pictures.

The writers of the sequel were one of the elements Mitchell and Thompson covered up in their post, but as the chairman of Paramount, it’s probable Robbins will have at least some influence on Good Burger 2. Shaquille O’Neal and Carmen Electra had cameo appearances in the first movie, and both continue to frequently appear on reality or broadcast television.
