Dave Chappelle made a massive comeback in his career through his Netflix stand-up specials. Chappelle is one of the most celebrated figures in comedy. However, he’s dealt with a lot of controversy and criticism. A man even rushed him during his LA performance. He’s now facing a murder charge.

The murder charge is unrelated to the storming, however. Isaiah Lee got arrested after he tackled Chappelle during his stand-up set at the Hollywood Bowl. His criminal history goes beyond the incident.

Lee recently got charged with the murder of his roommate months before the incident. However, he pleaded not guilty, as per the LA County District Attorney’s Office. The stabbing occurred in December 2021 at a transitional living facility in L.A.

Isaiah Lee also faces charges of battery, having a deadly weapon with intent to assault, and disrupting an event by being unlawful. He has also pleaded not guilty to them.

Lee later confessed that he was offended by Chappelle’s humor, and jokes about gay people specifically “triggered” him. The charges against him are pretty dire, and it doesn’t help that he’s dealing with two different legal cases.
