Todd Chrisley is no stranger to legal troubles at this point. The “Chrisley Knows Best” star along with his wife, Julie were found guilty of tax evasion in June this year. While they await sentencing for that case, new trouble has entered their life.

According to TMZ, Chrisley is being sued for defamation by Amy Doherty-Heinze, a former Georgia Department of Revenue investigator. She claims in her lawsuit that the multimillionaire real estate developer has made some bold allegations against her on his famous podcast.

According to the legal filings, the investigator alleges Todd continues to slander her on his podcast, “Chrisley Confessions,” by falsely accusing her of numerous criminal acts relating to the investigation into his money. She also mentioned the specific claims that the entrepreneur made against her in a podcast episode last September.

The lawsuit states, Todd “maliciously” accused her of breaching the law during the investigation, naming her not once but twice. Further demanding her prosecution, and portraying her as crooked and dishonest.

This is the second time that Amy has sued the reality TV star for defamation, the first case being back in June 2021. She argues that since then, Todd has not only failed to retract his defamatory statements but has doubled down on them, prompting her to file the second lawsuit.

Things are certainly not looking good for Chrisley, who is supposed to know the best. Although the millionaire is free on bond and his sentencing is yet to be scheduled, he could face up to 30 years in federal prison for tax fraud alone. Now we will have to see how he deals with the defamation case.
