Mike Evans was suspended for one game due to a fight he indicated against Marshon Lattimore during the Tampa Bay vs. New Orleans game on Sunday. Not the top dog of the NFL is coming to his defense.

Brady said on his “Let’s Go” podcast on Monday evening that the suspension was not needed. The entire situation was ridiculous according to him.

“I don’t think it deserved any type of suspension, I think that’s ridiculous.”

Evans defended Brady on the field and leveled Lattimore causing an all-out brawl The wideout star was ejected from the game, and on Monday, the NFL announced it was suspending him for a game, claiming his behavior violated unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct rules.

Brady trashed the league’s ruling. He did say he was a fan of Evans’ actions.

“In the end, I appreciate Mike having my back,” Brady said. “I know he’ll learn from it. And he knows that we all have his back.”

Tom did admit that he took some blame for the fight, saying if he hadn’t run down the field to argue with the call, none of it the fallout have happened. The Buc will be without Evans (if he doesn’t win an appeal) this Sunday when they take on the Packers in Tampa.
