Sydney Sweeney Under Fire After Throwing Right-Wing Hoedown Party

Sydney Sweeney is one of the most successful actresses to appear on the scene recently. The actress won accolades for her portrayal of the character of Cassie on Eurphoria. Now she’s getting attention for a totally different reason.

Sweeney has made headlines for throwing a tone-deaf party for her mom. On Saturday, the actress shared pictures of a party celebrating her mom, Lisa’s 60th, birthday. Needless to say, the internet had a field day.

While the posts initially seemed completely harmless, it has raised some eyebrows since. In fact, fans have been discussing Sweeney’s political leanings, and wondering whether she is actually right-wing.

TMZ reports that the pictures reveal the party to have somewhat of a hoedown-inspired theme, with several attendees sporting cowboy hats and boots. Some can also be wearing MAGA style hats that say “Make Sixty Great Again.”

Sydney has addressed the controversy, writing … “You guys this is wild. An innocent celebration for my moms milestone 60th birthday has turned into an absurd political statement, which was not the intention. Please stop making assumptions. Much love to everyone ❤️ and Happy Birthday Mom!”

Possibly, what gave rise to most of the conjecture regarding Sweeney’s political leanings, is the featuring a man who appears to be wearing a “Blue Lives Matter” shirt. The post has since been taken down, but you can check out screenshots below.
