Shia LaBeouf has made a name for himself as a renowned actor. Olivia Wilde claims that she fired LaBeouf from the movie. However, he has come forward to explain and clarify that he quit all by himself. Olivia says that she fired him to protect Florence Pugh on the set given his previous abuse accusations.

The psychological thriller ‘Don’t Worry Darling.’ features Florence Pugh as the lead actor. However he wasn’t the first choice for the role, it was supposed to be Shia LaBeouf. Wilde said that Shia’s process was not good for the environment she demands in her productions. According to Olivia as she spoke to Variety, firing Shia was critical to keep Florence safe.

“I say this as someone who is such an admirer of his work. His process was not conducive to the ethos that I demand in my productions. He has a process that, in some ways, seems to require combative energy, and I don’t personally believe that is conducive to the best performances.”

It was also reported that LaBeouf allegedly “quit” the next day. Two days after, Wilde sent him a video, recorded in her car, where she “alluded to tension between LaBeouf and Florence Pugh, who stars in the film as Alice, the wife of LaBeouf and Styles’ character Jack,

In the August 24th cover story with Variety, Wilde opened up about the story. In an email message sent to the outlet, LaBeouf denied he was fired from the movie. The actor claims that he “quit the film due to lack of rehearsal time.”

LaBeouf subsequently forwarded two emails he claims to have sent to Wilde on August 24th and August 25th after the story was published. Variety has learned that the texts were sent before the production, learned what Shia’s immersive method entailed. There’s still a bit of confusion on what is the truth of the matter, as various sources narrate different stories.

LaBeouf also reportedly sent screenshots of text messages he sent to Wilde in August 2020. It shows that he told Wilde he’d have to back out of “Don’t Worry Darling.” He was cast as the lead actor Jack, which was later recast with Harry Styles.

LaBeouf was previously accused by FKA Twigs, claiming that he allegedly abused Olivia Wilde emotionally, mentally, and physically. This story can also later tie up into the present matter. It’s not enough to clearly see through what happened but we have both perspectives.
