Noah Schnapp has played one of the major characters in the hit Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’ since the show’s debut in 2016. The series’ first major plot arc revolved around the mysterious disappearance of Will Byers, and a lot of things change in time, especially when filming a television show. Noah recently said that the directors of ‘Stranger Things’ were not happy when he and his co-stars reached puberty before their characters.

According to Flaunt Magazine, the directors of “Stranger Things,” according to Noah Schnapp, were not pleased with their young cast maturing past their characters in the show. The 17-year-old actor has played Will Byers on the Netflix series since he was 10-years-old. Due to this, Schnapp went through puberty before Will, which caused some consternation on set.

“It was the peak time of change, and puberty and growing up and just everything was changing with all of us, and the directors were just not loving it.”

Schnapp’s co-stars, who include Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, and Gaten Matarazzo, joined the show at a similar age. McLaughlin, the eldest of the group, was just 14 when the show premiered. While the Hawkins gang is only around 14 years old in season 4 of the show, they now range in age from 17 to 20 in real life.

Given the actors’ ages, Ross Duffer, one of the showrunners of “Stranger Things” alongside his brother Matt Duffer, recently told TV Line that he was “sure” the show will undergo a time leap in its fifth and final season. Schnapp told the outlet that he remembered a producer approaching him in an earlier season and asking if he would raise the pitch of his voice and “slouch a little bit” in order to keep his character’s “season one innocence” until he hit puberty.

“That was like, ‘I don’t know what to tell you. My voice is dropping. I don’t sound young anymore.'”

Looking back on the show, Schnapp said that it serves as an “archive” of his work during his childhood, allowing him to “grow up onscreen.” He further added, “I’ll be able to show that to my kids, and it’s just crazy that that’ll live there forever.”

This is why being an actor is advantageous; they live on in perpetuity. Stranger Things’ success ensures that no one will forget about the show and its characters for a long time. To get the latest updates, keep an eye on Thirsty.
