Noah Schnapp is well-known for portraying one of the main characters in the hit Netflix series ‘Stranger Things’ since the show’s inception in 2016. The actor, who recently graduated from high school, revealed that he has already started doing a side job while waiting for the final season of the Netflix phenomenon to begin filming.
In his interview with Flaunt Magazine, the young actor revealed that he has a side job as a lifeguard, noting that it has “kept [him] grounded.” In fact, he received an acceptance letter from the University of Pennsylvania, where he will pursue a business degree.
“It’s [the lifeguard gig] is kind of a ‘just for fun thing. I’ve kind of grown up with a normal life and normal friends and stuff outside of Stranger Things, so it’s kind of kept me grounded.”
Schnapp acknowledged that he had thought about attending college for acting, but said he finally made the decision that “acting was just kind of repetitive, and I wanted to try something new.” He also mentioned another reason for him to broaden his own horizons as the fact that co-star Millie Bobby Brown will be attending Purdue University to study health and human services.
“She’s kind of learning about other things. I thought it would make more sense to do something different. And business was a pretty clear next thing for me.”
For Schnapp, who recently called his acting career “a hobby” during an interview with Variety, this shouldn’t come as a huge surprise. “It’s fun to explore different things. I’d love to direct and produce and write and be an entrepreneur and do all these different things,” he explained. Schnapp added that understanding all of these additional skills would help him develop and broaden his acting skills.
For the actor, who has had his own business since he was 15 years old, studying business is also a logical next step. Schnapp is the founder of TBH, a vegan, environmentally friendly substitute for Nutella. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more updates.
