The Rock Helped John Cena Out During One Of His Early Acting Auditions

John Cena is a 16-time World Champion and carried the company on his back throughout the PG era. In 2017 John Cena became a part-timer in WWE and since then, he has appeared sporadically due to his busy schedule in Hollywood.

The Peacemaker actor has faced off against the best of the best the pro wrestling world has to offer, and that includes The Rock. He also has a lot of respect for The Rock, because he followed in his footsteps to become a huge draw in Hollywood.

However, Cena called out The Rock for distancing himself from the WWE in the last. While speaking at Wales Comic Con, John Cena said that Dwayne Johnson’s advice ahead of an audition helped settle his nerves.

“He [Dwayne] is one of the reasons I have a life outside the WWE. He gave me some of the best advice. I remember I got an audition for a small part in a movie called Trainwreck. There was a pretty thorough audition process, and I was very nervous. Because I’ve never been through that before.

I was able to ask him [Dwayne Johnson], ‘Hey man, do you have any advice?’ He said, ‘They asked you there for a reason dude; just be yourself.’” He, in that one sentence, allowed me to calm down. Allowed me to be myself.”

John Cena last appeared on Monday Night RAW a few weeks ago to celebrate his 20th anniversary, but he’s not scheduled for another match at this time. We’ll have to see when he will be back, as a feud with Austin Theory could certainly happen.
