Kim Kardashian was married to Kanye West for seven years before divorcing him. She moved on to Pete Davidson, but their relationship is no longer a thing. Kanye tried everything to scare Pete away early on, but he remained silent and Skete carried on with Kim K. Kanye has returned following Kim and Pete’s split reports.

Following news that Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson’s well-publicized romance has ended, Ye appears to have responded with a photoshopped New York Times front-page story. The altered image includes the amusing headline “SKETE DAVIDSON DEAD AT THE AGE 28,” a reference to Ye’s once-popular nickname for Pete.

Kid Cudi’s recent Rolling Loud Miami set is also mentioned in the Instagram post but in a much smaller font. As previously reported, Cudi replaced Ye on the lineup when the latter pulled out due to “circumstances outside our control,” as fest organizers put it at the time. “Kid Cudi meant to play funeral but fearful of bottle throwers,” the text reads.

While this will most certainly be interpreted as a continuation of Ye’s public campaign against Pete, as shown in this month’s A24 slasher Bodies Bodies Bodies, it could also be viewed as the ending of the larger Skete Davidson era. In other words, maybe the faux Times front-page image is meant to signal the end of both the nickname and its related elements, like decapitating a claymation version of the former SNL star.
