Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson shocked fans when they coupled up, but then those same fans were also surprised when they called it quits nine months later. Now we are sifting through the ashes of their ended relationship, and it seems this was Kim’s preference.

A source told ET that Kim K simply wasn’t ready to jump right into something serious right now. That spelled an end for their relationship.

This insider went on to say that Pete Davidson is “so sweet, but she didn’t feel ready for something serious with him. They had tons of chemistry, and still do, but she kind of wants to be single and date. Kim still adores Pete and will always be friends with him. She still thinks he’s the nicest and sweetest guy in the world, and there’s no drama or anything weird between them now.”

In the end, Pete is the opposite of Kanye West, and that was what Kim Kardashian wanted. She also thought it would just be a “fun fling,” and she wasn’t looking for a new long term relationship.

“She felt like Pete was the extreme opposite of Kanye and it was good for her then,” the source continued. “She initially thought it would be a fun fling, but then it got more serious when they were spending so much time together. Kim wasn’t feeling like she was willing to settle down with him just yet.”

“Pete and Kim broke up. The distance has been hard and things were starting to fizzle out,” the source said. “Pete being away for so long was hard for them. Kim is doing well and she knows she has a lot going on. Pete has been super busy as well.”

We’ll have to see who Kim Kardashian ends up with next. It seems that she is just looking for some casual dating after her marriage ended. If anything, we will also be paying much closer attention to see which out-of-his-league female Pete Davidson is able to find himself with next as well.
