Kevin Durant has been trying to get out of Brooklyn all offseason. The NBA star is meeting with Nets ownership today to discuss a trade. At least one league executive doesn’t think that will happen.

With Kyrie Irving also on the trading block, Brooklyn has plenty to keep them busy this Summer. After Kyrie was unable to come to terms on a contract extension, the Nets were left with two star players who don’t want to be there. It seems like a trade is inevitable.

One source close to the situation told Heavy that they don’t see the Nets trading Kevin Durant. Kyrie Irving is a possibility, though. The source said the team just won’t get what they think KD is worth in a deal right now.

“My bet is they don’t trade either one of them. Maybe Kyrie. I don’t see them trading Durant, because they’re not going to get back what they should. And I wouldn’t trade him either. The hell with it. He signed the deal. The hell with it, right?

I don’t see KD being a hard line guy, either. If they can’t get a deal done, he’s just going to say, ‘F*ck it,’ and he’ll play and he’ll play hard like he always does. I know KD, and he’s not going to sit out or anything like that. He’s not that kind of guy. There’s no way. He’s not going to do anything like that.”

That same source said that if the Brooklyn Nets want to win now, their best bet is to keep Durant, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons together. Otherwise, it could be a lost season. Time will tell what the future holds after today’s meeting, but there are those within the NBA who don’t see a deal in the cards.
