Chris Hemsworth has reprised the Marvel role on multiple occasions since 2011, delivering fantastic screen acting to legitimize the character. It’s no secret that Marvel actors frequently follow stringent diets and training routines in order to get in shape for challenging superhero battle scenes. Hemsworth, though, may be the first to dramatically change his normal diet in advance of a kissing scene.

Natalie Portman appeared in a recent interview with Capital FM. She revealed that her on-screen love interest gave up meat from his customarily meat-heavy diet before they shared their first kiss on the set of “Thor: Love and Thunder” because he remembered she was vegan. Portman hugely appreciates the gesture.

The day we had a kiss scene, [Hemsworth] didn’t eat meat that morning because I’m vegan. He eats meat like every half hour. That was so thoughtful. … That’s not something I’m angry about or care about, but he was just being thoughtful. He’s a very nice person. I didn’t know that.

Portman’s “Love and Thunder” co-star Tessa Thompson remarked in the same interview, stating, “That’s really sweet.” Thompson joked that the Australian action actor eats bison for breakfast, and expressed disbelief at learning that Hemsworth could go without meat.
