Elon Musk recently announced that he was planning to back out of his $44 billion bid to buy Twitter. The Tesla boss claims that he has not seen enough information to prove how many of the site’s users are real people and not bots. The social media giant responded with a threat to sue Musk to make sure the deal goes through.

Rather than allowing his legal team to handle things, Elon Musk took to Twitter to mock the company. He shared a meme that, of course, featured himself. Musk thinks the company is making a huge mistake to pursue the legal route.

“They said I couldnt buy Twitter…

Then they wouldn’t disclose bot info…

Now they want to force me to buy Twitter in court…

Now they have to disclose bot info in court”

Twitter will be represented in litigation against Elon Musk by powerhouse law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, per a report by Bloomberg. A suit could be filed as early as this week. Elon doesn’t seem bothered by the threats.

Twitter stock is currently worth about $34 per share, down approximately 7% based on the news that Elon Musk wants to pull out. Musk originally offered $54.20 per share to buy the company outright. It will be interesting to see what happens when the case goes to court, but Musk isn’t sweating it too much.
