Tiger Woods suffered a terrible car wreck which required hours on the operating table to repair. Now he is back on the fairways, but he’s not overdoing it.

Woods withdrew from the 2022 PGA Championship after the third round of the tournament Saturday. This came after his return to the sport just a few months ago.

The Golf Channel’s Rex Hoggard tweeted out this big news as he confirmed that Tiger Woods pulled out of the PGA Championship. The type of injury was not disclosed, but it is enough to take Woods out of the game.

Tiger Woods has withdrawn from @PGAChampionship following a third-round 79. “I’m sore. I know that is for a fact. We’ll do some work and see how it goes,” he said after the round.

Tiger Woods didn’t give up hope that he will play on Sunday for the final round, but Saturday didn’t happen. It seems that the pain is coming from his surgically repaired right leg.

Woods is one of the greats in all around sports. The fact that he was playing at all after such a devastating car wreck shocked many in the first place. We will continue monitoring this ongoing story here at Thirsty.
