Elon Musk has been working overtime to spin his recent allegations of sexual misconduct as a political attack. Musk, who has always claimed to be a political moderate, suddenly announced that he was a Republican. From there, he warned of upcoming ‘political attacks’ against him.

Musk was likely tipped off to the fact that Business Insider was about to run a story about allegations of harassment by the Tesla boss. Moments after the outlet asked him for a statement, Musk took to Twitter where he started blaming liberals for everything. It was a page directly from the playbook of several scandal-plagued conservatives.

It was reported that SpaceX, the aerospace firm headed by Elon Musk, paid a flight attendant $250,000 in hush money to keep from talking about the alleged incident. Musk was said to have exposed himself to the woman and touched her inappropriately. Elon has denied the claims, but he was already on the offensive before the story ever broke.

“In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party.

But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican.

Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold …”

If Elon Musk’s Twitter feed is starting to look familiar, it’s because he is echoing much of the same language, rhetoric, and tactics as former President Donald Trump. Elon’s sudden turn towards radical conservatism is no surprise to anyone who has followed his behavior. Now, the public is starting to see the Musk that many of his critics have known was lurking inside all along.
