Will Smith shook the entire Hollywood when he used violence at this year’s Oscars ceremony. The incident drew in widespread criticism from fans and celebrities alike. He was even handed a 10-year ban from The Academy for his behavior. Will Smith’s unacceptable behavior is still causing trauma to comedians like Wanda Sykes.

Wanda Sykes is still recovering from Will Smith’s antics at the Academy Awards in 2022. The “King Richard” actor stepped onto the stage on March 27th and slapped comedian Chris Rock. Rock compared his wife Jada Pinkett Smith – who has the medical ailment alopecia – to G.I. Jane.

Wanda Sykes co-hosted the event with Regina Hall and Amy Schumer. During her comedy act at Orlando’s Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, she confessed that she will take a long time to recover from the tragedy. AllHipHop recently reported that Wanda Sykes expressed her trauma.

I’m still traumatized. I can’t talk about it. I get emotional. I couldn’t believe he was still sitting there, like an -ssh-le. Shouldn’t you be sitting there with a lawyer or LAPD, motherf-cker? I hope he gets his sh-t together. Until then, f-ck him.

Sykes expressed surprise that Will Smith remained in the audience for the entirety of the play. Smith apologized to Academy members and his peers during his Best Actor award speech at the film event, and he followed up with a long apology on Instagram the next day. Check out the video below.
