DaniLeigh has been involved in quite a lot of controversies in the past year or so. She has been receiving a lot of negative backlash for the “Yellow Bone” controversy. Despite apologizing, fans were still after her and continue to bash the singer on social media.

It didn’t take long until anything the singer did was seen with a lot of scrutiny. It led to her taking time off of social media for a while. Her life has never been 100% without drama either.

The full version of “Yellow Bone” never came out, but even the lyrics caused a lot of backlash. In a video, she was heard singing, “Yellow bone is what he wants.” She was dating DaBaby back then. Fans then accused DaniLeigh of making the song to target Meme, the mother of the DaBaby’s daughter.

While speaking with Angie Martinez, DaniLeigh talked about her relationship with DaBaby and the ”Yellow Bone” controversy. DaniLeigh made it clear she understood how messed up that song was.

“No. When I did drop the snippet and saw how everyone reacted, I was like, ‘I messed up. I didn’t super realize it at that time and that’s why I responded like, defensive. But it was a horrible mistake. It was not a good moment, for sure, for me, and it was a hard time. In that time, like, a lot was going on in my life.

Me and Baby broke up, that happens, me and my family, I was pregnant, like, it was just all at once. So, I was like, what is God trying to teach me right now ’cause it was definitely a learning lesson for me and I just want to say to everybody that I’m super sorry ’cause I—it was just a mistake. I’m a Dominican woman. I have family members that are dark-skinned, my daughter is a Black girl, like, it just was—to even speak on skin tone, like, I realize how messed up that is now.”

Despite her apology, there are still quite a few people who have not let DaniLeigh off the hook just yet. It is unlikely many people will forgive DaniLeigh in the end by the looks of it. Keep checking back with Thirsty for more!
