Nicki Minaj is no doubt one of the most renowned female rappers in the Hip-Hop world. But unfortunately, Minaj’s father, Robert Maraj, was killed in a horrible hit-and-run accident a year ago and she had to go through a very tough period of time. It seems her mom is fuming mad with the punishment.

The man who killed Nicki Minaj’s father in a hit-and-run accident will not face harsh punishment for his crimes. On Friday, Charles Polevich pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of a fatality and tampering with physical evidence, according to Newsday. Last year, while Nicki Minaj’s father was walking in Mineola, New York, the 71-year-old man was hit by a car.

Robert Maraj died as a result of his injuries. Nicki Minaj described his death as the “most heartbreaking loss” of her life. Charles Polevich admitted leaving the scene of the accident and never reporting it to police.

He faced up to 11 years in prison for his part in the death of Nicki Minaj’s father. However, State Supreme Court Justice Howard Sturim announced that he sentenced Charles Polevich to no more than a year in prison. It was upsetting for Robert Maraj’s widow to see her husband’s killer in court.

I’m not happy with that … one year in jail. I’m not happy with that. I was angry, very, very angry. I started to shake because it brought back all the memories of that night when I was sitting in the hospital.

According to investigators, Maraj was walking in the roadway on Roslyn Road near Raff Avenue in Mineola around 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 12, 2021, when Polevich struck him with his 1992 white Volvo station wagon. Charles Polevich will officially be sentenced on August 3rd. Check out the video below.
