Austin Powers was a massive cultural phenomenon in the 1990s and early 2000s. Mike Myers lent his comedic chops to the clumsy British spy and many of his enemies over three classic films. A fourth installment in the Austin Powers series could be coming soon.

Fans went crazy after Mike Myers reprised his roles for a hilarious ad for this year’s Super Bowl. Speculation began to run wild that it was a sign that a fourth movie was in the works. No news ever came and it was believed the commercial was just a one-off.

In a recent interview with Jess Cagle on Sirius XM, Mike Myers dropped a huge hint that Austin Powers 4 could be coming. He played with words and was careful to not reveal too much. It appears he was trying to convey that the movie is being developed.

“I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of such a project, should it exist or not exist.”

Myers said his tease was a “non-confirmed confirmation confirmation.” That is about as close as we have heard to a real confirmation, so fans will take it. No further details were shared.

Austin Powers has been on the shelf for a long time. After being re-introduced at the Super Bowl, the series once again entered the pop culture conversation. We could be very close to getting a reminder of just how pervasive the series truly was.
